Artist Statement

My work examines the relationships between perception, time, and environment. I use digital photography and alternative processes to create single images and layered compositions. Single images capture a focused encounter while composite images allow different perspectives and environmental conditions to coexist in the same image, suggesting that no moment is ever experienced in a fixed state.

Experimentation and layering are vital to my practice. I often follow intuition and curiosity, responding to light, movement, and the environment. Cyanotypes and composite images expand on this exploration, enabling me to investigate how multiple moments recontextualize themselves over time.

I aim to cultivate curiosity about the world we are living in. I am interested in how humans inhabit and perceive the world and I invite viewers to consider their relationships with environments and experiences that shape our understanding.
